Snackers & Drinkers
Beware of ‘sports’ drinks, energy drinks, soft (fizzy) drinks e.g., cola, fruit and sweet drinks as the acids can dissolve teeth and the sugar can cause decay.
- Mostly when exercising, drinking water is best.
- Avoid snacking on sweet food and ‘energy’ bars, and remember frequent sugar intake can result in rapid and serious decay.
- Coaches should advise elite athletes on the use and dental risks of sports drinks.
